On 13 January 2025, Gaussian will disappear from Kebnekaise.

If you need to continue running Gaussian after that, you need to apply for time on a NAISS-system. You can find information on the NAISS systems here: https://supr.naiss.se/resource/

We will have a maintenance window 2025-01-07 - 2025-01-10 for upgrading our project and user home file system.

This means that Kebnekaise will be drained from running jobs during the week before and no jobs will be allowed to run during the maintenance window. The login nodes will also be unavailable for the same reason.

SUNET will perform network management on the connection to Umeå University on 2024-12-06 somewhere between 07:00 and 22:00

Connection to HPC2N from outside Umeå University will be unreliable during that time window.

The HPC2N Center Local rounds for compute and storage are now open for proposals.

The start date of allocations are 2025-01-01.

End date for HPC2N Center Local 2024 rounds are 2024-12-15.

Dear users of HPC2N,

we want to inform you about the latest sets of new hardware available on Kebnekaise.

During the spring and summer we have installed some new nodes, both pure
CPU nodes and GPU nodes.

All nodes are based on AMD Zen4 CPUs. The pure CPU nodes have 256 cores/node. 
Most of the GPU nodes have dual Nvidia L40s cards, two nodes have
Nvidia quad-H100 SXM5 cards, and two nodes have 6xL40s cards.
